Watkin’s Woolen Mill ‘Fall on the Farm’

October 11 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join costumed interpreters as they demonstrate rural life of the 1870s. See displays of blacksmithing and woodstove cooking, try your hand at rag doll making, rope making, and old-time games. Other activities may include corn shelling, crosscut sawing, cider pressing, and Victorian era gardening. All activities take place outdoors, so be sure to dress for the weather.

Extension Master Gardeners from Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City will be on hand to answer questions about the Victorian era garden and general gardening questions.

For more information, contact 816-580-3387.

Outdoor activities are free. Guided tours of the antebellum Watkins home and historic woolen mill are available for a small fee.
