Blue Springs Museum Garden

101 SW 15th Street, Blue Springs, Mo

The Blue Springs Museum Garden is located between the 1906 Historical Society Home and the 1878 Railroad Hotel. The mission of this garden is to promote gardening in the historical district of Blue Springs and to create an educational experience for youth and adults through gardening.  There are 4 beds of flowers and herbs next to the home and 4 raised vegetable beds behind the hotel.

Our Extension Master Gardener volunteers work in the garden on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from 9-11am beginning April 1st.   They have composed storybooks to provide education about the history of Blue Springs and these are featured in the garden.  They have also scheduled horticultural classes at the museum that are open to the public and work with the Blue Springs 4-H students at the Museum teaching them using information from the MU Extension Eating from the Garden program.  They continue to promote Blue Springs Beautify Main Street and have partnered with Blue Springs Downtown Alive to provide education to business on the importance of landscape for the business.
