Container Gardening with Native Plants-Work and Learn DayĀ
Join us for a presentation in the Burr Oaks Nature Center Auditorium on container gardening with native plants. After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to work and learn alongside University of Missouri Extension Master Gardeners as they deadhead, collect seeds, weed and water the garden beds. All garden tools will be provided. Please bring your own garden gloves and water bottles.
No registration is needed.
Participants should be 18 years or older.
All dates are weather dependent; if recent downpour or rain day of, work day will be rescheduled or cancelled. If in doubt feel free to contact Staff Naturalist, Rachel Mandi at 816-228-3766

Union Hill Garden Club Tour
Extension Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City return to one of the Kansas City areaās oldest and most popular garden tours on Sunday June 7! Join us on Union Hill from 10am until 3pm. We will be there answering questions, providing information about how to grow, soil samples, our Hotline, and with free seed packets and fun for the kids!
Enjoy the gardens, a lovely neighborhood, food trucks, and a performance by members of the KC Symphony. Park and check in near Grand and 31st or take the KC streetcar to the Union Hill stop.Ā
Day of Tour ticket price is $15

Childrenās Festival at Powell Gardens Colonial Farms
Come discover the magic of compost with the Extension Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City (MGGKC) at the Public Relations Table! Weāll have hands-on, engaging activities for all ages to explore what compost is, why it matters, and how it helps gardens grow. Extension Master Gardeners will also have soil testing kits available and will be accepting soil test samples and payment.
Plus, the first 100 elementary-aged children will receive a Goody Garden Bag!
