DESCRIPTION:The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to the Get MO Wild Fall Fest at Burr Oak Woods Conservation Area. This free family outdoors event is for people of all ages\, and no registration is required. For nearly a century MDC has been connecting the public to nature. All needed equipment for various nature activities will be provided\, as MDC staff\, Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City\, and partners will host nature exhibits and outdoors skills sessions. DESCRIPTION:This 9-month course will deepen your knowledge about the native plants of Missouri as you network with other gardening enthusiasts through class and field work. Class work includes lectures\, readings and a research project. SUMMARY:Watkin’s Woolen Mill 'Fall on the Farm'
DESCRIPTION:Join costumed interpreters as they demonstrate rural life of the 1870s. See displays of blacksmithing and woodstove cooking\, try your hand at rag doll making\, rope making\, and old-time games. Other activities may include corn shelling\, crosscut sawing\, cider pressing\, and Victorian era gardening. All activities take place outdoors\, so be sure to dress for the weather. \nExtension Master Gardeners from Master Gardeners of Greater Kansas City will be on hand to answer questions about the Victorian era garden and general gardening questions. \nFor more information\, contact 816-580-3387. \nOutdoor activities are free.
